The build is starting to form up

So this is the first of a few. Parts… well I’m glad I’m not funding it. When I first thought of the cluster this board stood out. The fans are overkill for what this system will be pulling but after fan tuning it’s pretty quiet. I like the redundant psu and modular cables but not the ideal setup at the moment until I make some or find a place to source specific cable arrangements. There will be more. Finally played with 3d printing to make it all work. Still need to get the 200g nic and some HDD to complete the first for testing and then the slow snowball begins.

I don’t want to be rude, but I’m missing some context here. What is this system meant to do? What hardware do you intend to use?

Just an offline cluster that has to have all its back up onsite. It’s going to be running a few instances of SQL servers and then a hand full of VM instances. All of it minus the SQL instances will be apart of the cluster HA and the SQL stuff will more than likely have multiple instances running for data HA. The data HA is for ease of issues with fail over or restarts. 10years or more before hardware gets looked at again. It’s replacing some 12th gen dell stuff.

I thought this was a Dell Precision for a second.
