Only for you, hon.

Android: Enable developer mode
Settings->system->developer options->drawing - > disable window and transition animation scale and disable animator duration scale.

iOS:
Settings->general->accessibility->enable reduce motion

So, this is good for battery life? Or what does it do for the user?

it will help out the battery life a little by not having to waste CPU/GPU time drawing the animations but the main benefit is making slower phones feel faster because the animations are not taking time to draw to the screen

Was looking for a way to stop the idiotic bounce animation in my fitness tracker for food portions, and this does a great job. Don’t need the animations, I’d rather get done what I wanted to more quickly.
