So I was thinking of moving my USB DAS units into another room and daisy chain them off a Terramaster NAS device or technically any other manufacturers device like Synology or Qnap etc.
Has anybody done this ?
If so any tips and tricks to know before hand ?
Data backup to a third medium before trying anything like this!
Other than that just always being a good idea, is there a reason for this? It doesn’t seem like just plugging a DAS into a NAS should be at any kind of elevated risk of data loss unless I’m missing something.
Thanks for the feedback, just wondering IF the NAS would be able to properly see and share the attached DAS devices.
Currently just connected the DAS devices onto a Beelink Windows Mini-PC and sharing them accordingly.
I wanted to consolidate storage devices onto it’s own storage configuration instead of using the Windows Share function.
Me being paranoid when it comes to my data!
