Taichi x570 4 DIMM ECC Overclock

Has anyone had success overclocking 4 ECC DIMMs beyond 3200 mhz on the Taichi x570?.

I’m using 4 x Samsung DDR4-2666 ECC UDIMM PC4-21300V-E Dual Rank x8 (M391A2K43BB1-CTD-MDN). The DRAM calc by 1usmus outputs super tight timings like CAS 14 for 3600mhz. Which never posts. I’ve been able to hit 3200Mhz with 1.356v and timings set to 17-17-17-40 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 57-433-322-198-7-4-26 (RC-RFC1-RFC2-RFC4-RRDL-RRDS-FAW). Anything not listed is on auto.

No Errors in Memtest86+ or DRAM calc’s ram test.

Notes:

  • BIOS is latest 2.7 released 12/09/19

  • 3333mhz will post with same settings, haven’t stress tested it. 3400+ no post. Have gone up to cas 22 with 1.4v and 1.125v SOC, but no post. Not sure that voltages beyond that are safe for 24x7.

  • I don’t think power delivery or cooling are factors , I’m using…
    CPU: 3900x
    PSU: EVGA 850 G+
    Cooling: Custom loop CPU/GPU same loop. 2x420mm rads with 3 Riing 14 fans on each. Good overall airflow, memory sticks are cool to the touch on working 3200 settings

3333 Mhz stable @ 1.362v and same timings noted above for 3200.
Ran 2 passes of Memtest86 8.3 Pro with ECC injection enabled, no errors.

I’m pretty happy getting 2666 to run at 3333, but I’d love to hear if anyone has been able to push ECC further and what was adjusted to achieve it. Maybe the Ryzen IMC maxes out trying to handle 4 ECC DIMMS beyond that. I mean , I should at last hit a range where it’s unstable but posts.

3400 still wont post for me, but could be an IMC wall or AGESA/BIOS still relatively immature.

Kingston issued a product change notice this past Monday that some KSM26ED8/16E and KSM24ED8/16E 16 GB EUDIMMs might get made using Micron DRAM binned for 3200 MHz @ 1.2V;
DRAM -062 instead of -075.
