System 76/PopOS Broken UI When Closing Lid + External Monitor

Recently I bought a Oryx Pro from System 76 with Pop OS.

Specs:
Oryx Pro
GPU: 1070
pop_os: 22.04 LTS x86_64
GNOME 42.3.1

Whenever I have an external monitor plugged in and close the lid the mouse cursor starts moving and all the UI becomes un-responsive. The only way to fix this is with a restart even if I open the lid back up.

I have tried using Tweaks to disable suspend while closing the lid. I have tried changing the logind.conf file. I have done a refresh Install of PopOS. I’ve re-installed the Nvidia drivers, currently using nvidia-driver-515. I am talking with support but looking for any other ideas?

I think this is the usual quirks of Linux laptops. Linux is not so good in power management and multimonitor support and if you put them together plain chaos ensues. Just file a bug report. Maybe Sys76 hasnt encountered this use case so they arent particularly prepared for it.

Anyway, good luck! Do report back your experience.

Post a video. This sounds weird but is obviously a hardware issue if turning off suspend does not fix the issue.
