Switching server to TrueNas or alike from Hyper-V

Hello!

I have watched a few videos, including the one building the home server a few months back, and I am trying to figure out the correct path here. I currently have a T430 that I have setup as a Hyper-V 2019 host. I don’t do much with it currently, just a backup VM (going away), a couple “lab” type machines I play around with, a Linux Unifi cloud controller, and was beginning a Plex server when I decided I would like to go the same route as the TrueNAS video. My question, is there a way to port / convert those VM’s and any tips? I am assuming the Unifi controller is probably not too difficult (haven’t looked into it yet).

Any general suggestions as I am completely new to containers and such and why I am doing this, to learn. Below is the current hardware setup.

Dell T430
2 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v3 @ 2.40GHz, 2397 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
64 GB RAM
PERC H730
8 x 3 TB drives (currently 2 x RAID 5)

I do have other machines, but no other server

Looking forward to this and the many possibilities to use it for.

Thanks for your assistance!
