Hello All
When first setup my computer, I installed my video card in slot 7 but got a waring not enough recourses
but worked in slot 6. any ideas. both are x16 slots. the only card I installed why are these slots different, could not find anything in the manual,
Very hard to assist with the limited amount of information. I’d recommend reaching out to the motherboard OEM for a concrete answer.
what else do you need to know?
I googled “Supermicro h12SSL-CT not enough resources message pcie” and came up with this: https://www.supermicro.com/support/faqs/faq.cfm?faq=15556
Please change your BIOS settings:
BIOS > Advanced > PCIe/PCI/PnP Configuration > Above 4G Decoding and set it to Enabled.
See if that doesn’t help you out. Also as usual update your motherboard firmware. If you still have problems after doing all of that, which PCIE slots other than PCIE7 do you have populated, and with what peripheral(s)? What did Supermicro say when you reached out to support?
If you have a specific error code it would be helpful in narrowing down the issue.
Beyond that. If doing what @FrenziedManbeast says does not help. I’d check if the CPU is properly seated and if the socket has bent pins. I’ve had issues in the past with bent pins causing these issues. Beyond that I’d also reach out to supermicro to confirm configurations for hardware and firmware to verify compatibility.
Slot 7 and 6 have direct connections to the CPU according to the MoBo manual.
I am leaning towards a CPU/socket issue.
Do any other GPU’s work in that slot?
