The left button on my Logitech G100 is crapping out. I have always used Logitech mouses because I know they'll work with Linux out of the box. I can't find another new G100. I guess they're discontinued.
I don't really need a high end mouse. I just need something basic; but with better precision and speed. I play a little DeFrag from time to time and a basic gaming mouse works well enough. I don't care for a lot of buttons. Three is plenty; and anything beyond the extra scroll buttons on the side just annoys me.
I've been checking out the Rocat-Lua; but I don't know how well it will function with Linux, or if that's even something to be concerned about. I really don't know that much about peripherals.
The problem is, since I can't find what I've always been comfortable with, I have to try something new. I don't have a clue what to try; so I could use some advice.
using the 402 and 3 of those buttons are to change the mouse's sensitivity up or down in game. really useful for switching between things like csgo and darksouls. the other 2 are the back/forward buttons for internet browsers. the accuracy of the sensor is good enough that i have a 1/4+ average head shot %in csgo.
The real mouse is almost black = navy blue. I fell for the looks but it's a great mouse. Very high quality German construction. Cougar makes black ones, cheaper ones and more expensive mice.
Yeah, but I could asign one to dpi cycle, and then get an extra macro. I prefer to have melee attack, and discord push to talk button on the mouse. I then go through and make a custom profile for chrome with a back button.
I personally use the CM Storm Havoc. It's quite wide, and not super long, so it can be used for palm grippers or claw grippers. I do both, depending on the task. No idea if it's still sold.
A couple months ago, I bought the SteelSeries Rival 300, and hated it. It wasn't comfortable at all, was thin, and way too long for me (and I have pretty big hands, too...).
I've had the chance to use the MX Master a few times, and dang, it is a really comfortable mouse to use. However, it is a bit pricy.
Amazon has a Logitech G100S... which I'm guessing is just the G100 with new "gamer" graphics. They did the same thing with the G700 I was using when they renamed it G700S.
"Basic gaming mouse" is vague. Can you tell us how many buttons you're looking for? Does it matter if it's optical or laser? Will you be only using this for gaming, or will this be your general computing mouse too?
I use a Razer Abyssus. Its a pretty gsimple mouse, only downside is that it has no extra buttons. Found this review on it if you want more information.
I'm just like you when it comes to mice and Rocat Lua has been absolutely amazing for over a year now. Only lmb RMB scroll and dpi button with like 5-6 different dpi settings.
It is a little on the smaller side but it never bothers me. It's not so small it gives you cramps after 6 hours of use. And the finish feels really nice as well.
