Suddenly changed ui fonts firefox 60 @ubuntu

Hey guys!

I have the following problem:
My Firefox 60 (64Bit) suddenly changed, both on my laptop (ubuntu 16.04) and on my desktop (ubuntu 18.04) the UI fonts. You can see in the picture. The Firefox font settings seem to have no effect, and I can not find any issue posts about this bug.
Everything is fine in dualboot windows.

Thanks in advance

Are other applications affected similarly?

You should check your system font settings. I don’t know exactly how it’s done on Ubuntu, but if you search the unity search bar for font, you should be able to find it.

No, no other application is affected, and thats wierd.
As you can see the font of the window are as expected.
And the system font is the same as I configured last year (Desktop was a few weaks ago ubuntu 16.04 as well).

Is there any abbout:config settings I can make for fonts?

I don’t know. Hmm, it looks like firefox can’t find a specific font that it needs, so it’s falling back to something silly.

Thanks, I got the problem fixed:

I was using Helevetica as System Font, but it seem I haven’t installed it properly. So firefox suddenly couldn’t access it?!

I’m using a pre-installed one for now

Ah, that would definitely do it. I’m not a pro when it comes to fonts, so I can’t help you figure out why firefox can’t see the font. Best of luck though!
