Hello out there, I am looking for assistance with more details on how i should setup my current stream to twitch or other sites like TT with current hardware i have .
My pc setup currently is new - all parts i chose my self.

RAM - 64gb DDR5 stock run not OC or using profile.
GPU - AMD radeon RX6700 XT latest updates
for now - Internal AVermedia capture card live gamer hd 2
using Steel series KB and Mouse , i am switching from Razer to steel series for this pc due to Synapse 3 being a POS. I am going to purchase a Steel series KB (upgrade) new mouse (upgrade) Steel series speakers or Kplisch speakers and steel series microphone.
for this setup to stream and capture should i put the capture device into another PC ?
I have more than 1 pc available for instance I have a MSI Ms970 mb with windows 10 installed 32gb of ram.
what software like OBS or twitch studio would work best ? I really need a tut that works
Other capture devices i have - Elgato external hd 60 and Avermedia external
AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable 2 PLUS as well not currently using.
is there a discord channel that provides more support options and assistance?
L1T might not be the worlds best place to ask this advice, I feel like LTT’s forum might have more people there that like to stream/have experience with streaming.
But with me and my opinion, you have a very overkill CPU for the build, and a solid GPU if you’re running at 1080p
Honestly, you should be able to stream just fine without a capture card. But I have never used a capture card personally.
Anytime I’ve had to record, or tried streaming I’ve used OBS. I have a Ryzen 7 5700x and 1080ti, both do just fine anytime I try to record. I get 10mbps upload speed so I can’t really try out streaming properly.
For software. I’d just use OBS. It is a well loved piece of software, and odds are unless there is a “better” paid software, most streamers just use OBS. It works, and it works great, with a lot of plugins if you ever need any for it.
I will say, as someone that does sometimes watch streams, I recommend not using speakers. It is obnoxious to hear someone’s game, and then hear their game through their mic while they’re trying to talk. Or the same thing if you’re playing with friends.
Looking at you mentioning the other PC. You said it has a MSI Ms970 mobo. That probably means you’re running some old AMD 8xx/6xxx/4xxx in that system. That will be incredibly dated and have very poor performance. If it is just used for a capture card, than it’d probably be fine. But then again. You have an i9 12900KF w/ a 6700xt, you have a lot of cores to throw around for whatever you want to do. I feel like you’re fine with one PC. But I have very limited experience.
I have no idea if there is a L1T discord, I just browse the forums from time to time. But I will mention it again, go and ask on the Linus Tech Tips forum, they should hopefully have someone that can help you better than I there.
Your system should have the resources spare to handle streaming by itself.
Do you loop the output of your GPU through the capture card before forwarding it from the capture card to your monitor?
Peripherals like Mouse and Keyboard are personal taste.
Microphone wise, look into getting some dynamic mic (examples: Shure SM58, SE Electronics V7) and an audio-interface (examples: Yamaha AG03, Audiend id4). Yes, they are more expensive than some USB-mic, they give you hands on control and less software to deal with.

Capture cards are handy for consoles or using an older PC for retro games, if you’re pushing 60-120Hz keep the capture card as the encoder and pass thru is better than USB latency.
Stick to OBS, the changes going on you’ll find non-partner bit rates being capped to 3500 and most people multi-stream to Kick/Rumble. If you plan to multi-stream, cap your audio rate to 128kbps and use an audio soundboard controller–gives you the ability to move between mics/audio devices.
Some of the cheaper capture cards (looking at you, Elgato and AVermedia) offload the encoding to the GPU.
1/2 the price similar features
ZEDI-8 is 40€ more in the EU compared to the AG03.
For “my first mixer”-use, I’d argue AG03 (or AG06 if you got more complex needs) over some others. It is very tailored to single-device on desk setups.
Edit: Should probably preface the lower. These are all “one thing does all”-options. Breaking these out into AD-converter, Pre-Amp/Voice-channel and mixer will easily drive up costs 10x, which IMO is not required for “casual streaming”.
Some other options:
-
Yamaha AG03 - Broad I/O selection, features tailored to being the one-does-all
-
A&H ZEDi-8 - It is a small mixer, with a USB-interface! Allthough at that point, may as well get the ZEDi-10 for the benefits that brings.
-
MOTU MicroBook 2c - Super compact, good I/O selection, a bit strange to use coming from “one knob per function”-devices
-
SSL 2+ - No-Nonsense desktop device, a bit limited on inputs, outputs are above average though.
-
Audient id4 - Small, beginner friendly, somewhat limited (then again, small)
-
Audient id22 - Different beast to id4, has some nice features to expand into later on (yay inserts!) while remaining beginner friendly
