I'm actually surprised that it happened today. Valve seems like such a company of habit, why would they change it to a Wednesday start? Oh well, some pretty good deals to start off.
If Dealzon or a mod wants to make an official thread then I don't mind.
I was thinking we could all hop in and say which games we would recommend and which we wouldn't.
Things I can recommend you check out:
Skyrim, if you don't already have Skyrim then I (and probably most people here, including Logan & Pistol) whole-heatedly recommend this game. I don't know how good the DLCs are but the free alternative to DLCs is mods like Falskaar.
Left4Dead2 is really fun if you have some friends to play it with.
Terraria is a pretty fun little game, a bit like Minecraft in a sense, and it's super cheap.
Sleeping Dogs is a really fun open world game set in Hong Kong. Kinda like GTA but personally I prefer the setting and the gameplay to GTAIV (Can't comment on GTAV).
Just found out about this less than an hour ago. I've played Skyrim on xbox 360 a bit, but did't yet having it for the new PC. Needless to say that was a no-brainer. Can't wait to install it and start adding mods! :) My jaw hit the keyboard when I saw how cheap it was.
Also picked up Fez and Trine 2. Both awesome games, especially at less than $10 for both!
I gotta say, after coming back to PC gaming after an 8-year break, Steam really is the best thing since sliced bread. No joke.
DONT BUY A GAME UNLESS IT IS DAILY DEAL OR FLASH SALE
My recommendations for the current bunch are:
Sleeping Dogs: A great open world crime game. I enjoyed it a lot more than GTA4 and 5. Grab the HD texture pack if your PC can handle it too.
The Walking Dead: It's a point and click with a great story. Make sure you have a box of tissues for the last chapter too. It has been known to cause liquid manliness to leak from your eyes. It does have somewhat floaty controls so drop your dpi down for more precision.
Yeah I actually just bought TWD, even though I've seen many playthroughs I'm looking forward to making my own decisions. Looking forward to season 2 aswell.
