I recently bought the Func HS-260 because my old headset was wearing out and I needed one with a good mic. And in the video Tek Syn did the mic sounded quite good and clear. But when I actually did a test myself the mic is extremely quiet and has a TON of background static. I'm going to assume it's either my fault or a faulty set. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing it?

PS
It uses 3.5 mm jacks not USB
Did you have the mic sound boost on in windows? (the slider with +10.0db, +20.0db) That will give me static sometimes if I turn it up too high.
one of my audio inputs had a lot of static on it. i used another one and it completely disappeared.
It was 24 by default, but when I turn it off I can barely hear any recording with volume on both windows and the headset itself maxed...
I'm currently on a laptop, I've only got one to use.
Does +10db work? Or is that too quiet?
Interestingly enough, moving the mic EXTREMELY CLOSE to my mouth (as in less than a centimeter away from my lips) helped A TON. I'm probably just going to mess with some settings to finish the fix, thanks guys! :)
It works at +12 reeally close to my mouth which seems to be the solution. -___-
