Everytime I notice something like that, I take over the account and keep it active but lock it down.

How do you people always find these threads from >1 year ago?
I think its fun to re-read them sometimes, and throw some flak at the necromancers.
Because they tend to be "suggested" at the bottom of any similar threads. The admins really should disable or tweak that functionality, as it's only showing threads that are truly ancient.
