[SOLVED] Looking Glass input keyboard & mouse with Spice

I recently managed to get the libvirt working and correctly passing with VFIO a Nvidia 2070S. I was sharing the keyboard with endev method mentioned in Archlinux wiki. Since then I got looking glass working and now I want to configure it to use the looking glass Spice sharing of mouse/keyboard.

Could someone pinpoint me what I’ve done wrong on my XML config? I think I’m missing a “Spice Display” as mentioned from the looking Glass FAQ - but not sure where is that.

There is a Spice display in your config but the Spice channel is missing. See FAQ - Looking Glass (Link not allowed)

The spice channel is not required for proper operation of mouse/keyboard through spice. It is only used for clipboard sync. See: How_to_enable_clipboard_synchronization_via_SPICE.

@artafinde, make sure your spice display section has a localhost listening address and a known port. Here’s my XML:

<graphics type='spice' port='5900' autoport='no' listen='127.0.0.1'>
  <listen type='address' address='127.0.0.1'/>
  <image compression='off'/>
</graphics>

Have you looked at the example here - PCI passthrough via OVMF - ArchWiki

This works pretty well to use the same keyboard and mouse from Arch to W10. Pressing both control keys switches where the devices are directed. Like a scripted KVM. Works for me on looking glass with the GPU on arch.

Please read the OP question. What you refer to is called EvDev and the OP stated he already has this running successfully and wants to move on to spice.

Yeah I was using EvDev and was working not I managed to get the Spice shared mouse/keyboard as well.

Spice introduces a bit of lag. I’ll try a bit more and see if I will go back to EvDev. :smiley:

Cheers!

< yeah. I see now.
