I have an ASRock Rack ROMED8-2T and setup the BMC management area correctly, but now when I try to login, and it’s not taking my password.
I installed TrueNAS on one of the drives, but neither 10Gb port is receiving an IP address for whatever reason.
How am I supposed to reset the BMC password?
P.S. I have physical access to the device and just set this up 2 days ago.
I figured it out. Doesn’t help anyone else though, but I found the password in my password manager; it’s just the IP changed since I hadn’t set it to a fixed value yet, and the password was saved for the old IP.
Next time, if you have console access, you can use ipmitool to check the config and, eventually, create a new user with a known password or, In a worst case scenario, to factory reset it …
