I have a dell latitude e5420 for sell and I am done with ebay. Ebay shipped it to the wrong address made me refund the buyer and only reason I got the laptop back back is because it went to some one nice enough to go out of their way to return it. On top of that everything I sell on ebay undersales compared to bigger more known sellers by 20 or in the case of a nvidia graphics card I sold a 100 bucks and ebay is taking a huge chunk of my sales with its fees on top of paypal fees.
Being sick of ebay and paypal I have tried craigslist here in buffalo newyork. Just to get a bunch of paypal and money order scam offers and underpayers that make ebay look like angels. Why would I sell a intel core i5 laptop that can still outperform todays intel i3 laptops for 80-100 bucks. I even had some one come all the way to my house barely speak English look at the laptop, then ask if my bottom line was 100… The 130 I am selling it for is beyond reasonable.

Gonna install windows 10 and microsoft office jack the price up and see what happens.
Well, I don't want to be a jerk but if you can get anything over 100.00 take it. If you insist upon getting more money you will need to make or find the right customer. This means pounding the pavement and going to places where people need something like that or finding someone and convincing them that they need it. Is that worth the extra 50 bucks? That's your decision, but I say "no".
I made a flyer and went to a local community college (at the beginning of the semester) and put my old laptop up for 140.00. Of course I got the freshmen calling me and yelling random things and hanging up and crap like that but I got my money. An extra 10 dollars actually. He had a 100 and a 50 and asked for change. I said "I don't have any. Why do you think I'm selling my laptop?" BAM! 150.00 for something that nobody would offer more than 80.00 for.
Hope this helps.
Sorry to say it but the used market is shit take what you can get. I've had more than a fair share of experience selling on craigslist and ebay, if you want top dollar plan to wait months. You basically have to suck it up and sell it for what you can get or just don't sell it changing the medium through which you sell won't change human nature. You could try selling it here on the forums you may have some luck but don't expect a miracle offer.
As a side note sometimes it helps to ask more than what you want so when they try to low ball you it's what you wanted in the first place.
The next time I have a garage sale I will use that line.
when that happens make sure you can show them if they ask if you have any change
