i have the Corsair Scimitar RGB MOBA gaming mouse, and I got tired of just plain using desk surface to use my mouse. So I bought a decent looking mouse pad.

But ever since I started using it, while playing games, it will randomly jerk the mouse so i’m looking straight up. Why?
It never did this on the bare desk surface, and this mouse pad feels so nice and is decent quality from what i can tell, and is nicely big.
What’s going on? I’ve cleaned the mouse sensor area several times now, and I’ve also cleaned the pad surface.

It does sound like the sensor is picking up some reflection probably from fibres moving slightly and thinking they are movement.
Not sure what to do about it.
Could be telling and certainly odd that it is only up and down movement.
Are you using laser or optical. Optical tends to be more sensitive to reflection compared to Laser.
You desk surface may be matte enough for the Optical but the fibers on the mouse pad are too reflective causing noise that is interpreted as movement.
Quick comparison of the two.
Full disclosure, I use laser mice. I do benefit from the differences.
