Smaller phone because I am old

I am looking for a smaller phone because I dislike how large phones have gotten. I use an A54 currently.

I would honestly love to go back to a T9 fliphone if I could get Android Auto off of it. Something like the Galaxy Folder 2 or a Nokia 2780 (with a bit more to run Android).

  1. Smaller than my current phone
  2. Runs Android and can install android apps
  3. Runs wireless AndroidAuto
  4. Has enough onboard storage or even better takes a microsd card
  5. Voice to text
  6. A non-potato camera but doesn’t have to take a 500 million-zillion megapixel
  7. Modern wireless, wifi, and bluetooth

I really dont have screen requirements.

Asus Zenfone series, Google Pixel series (7a, 8, 8a), Sony Xperia 5 V or 1 V / 1 VI.
Avoid chinese brands, Mediatek and Unisoc SoCs and chinese brands like Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo etc.

I have an S24 (it’s the smallest phone I could find in my local market), and I’ve been liking it so far. Had a S22 before but did the upgrade to have a better battery runtime.

Not as small as I’d like (previously I had an S10e and loved it), but it’s either that or an iPhone mini, and since I’m not an iOS fan, eh…

The major downside with Samsung is Exynos (depending on region) and their UI which breaks Android design “guidelines”.

My previous S22 was a SD one and it had poor battery life and heated up a bit. My current S24 with an Exynos is far better than it. I guess it’s more of a specific generation being shit or not (SD801 anyone?)

I’m also used to the UI and like the built-in features, so I guess that’s subjective.

How small? Have you considered unihertz?

Someone also wrote a guide getting lineage setup

I got one I plan to flash lineage and use while traveling

Android 13

Not sure about this

You can use futo voice input with any keyboard that supports voice input. I use openboard

Specs look good haven’t tried the camera yet

Dual Sim or microsd

I own the Samsung Galaxy S10e. It does not use the newest Android version, but it works well enough for what I need every day. The moderately sized 5.8-inch display fits comfortably for my personal preferences. It only accommodates a single SIM card but offers the flexibility of additional storage through a MicroSD slot. Another convenience is the inclusion of a headphone jack.
