Smaller cases for atx or matx

Since I after two years finally put together my new server I directly stated to think about an alternative way. The one that has occupied my mind most recently is to build a couple of smaller computers specialised for their purpose. Thee are a couple of really nice small NAS cases like the Jonsbo N3 and the Silvestone DS380 which both are less than 30x30x40.

Now I’m trying to find similar cases that can hold an atx or matx card, one or two decent sized graphics cards, and lots of fans. With a 10G+ network card in this and the NAS most of the disks can be stored in the NAS and these cases will only need space for two 2.5" drives or something similar.

Jonsbo has a couple of cases suitable for this, D41 Mesh and D31 Mesh were the first ones to catch my eye. Both can fit 2x140mm in top and bottom, 1x120mm in front and back. I’m an old man who still haven’t gotten used to computers not being greybeige any longer so I’d prefer if they didn’t have windows, but hey, I guess you can’t have everything.

The Sliger Cerberus X is about as small as you can go with an ATX motherboard and large-ish GPUs:

Not exactly cheap though, and lacking some of the amenities common in more mainstream cases nowadays (though these are sacrificed for size, e.g. space for cable routing, space for filters etc). On the plus side though it has 8x expansion slots so you can get a double slot GPU in the bottom-most slot position if desired.

I kinda want one, but can’t justify the price given that I’ve not attended a LAN party in years, and would primarily pick one up for the portability/weight/handle! for such events.

There’s a MATX version too, the Cerberus.
