Small corner for random small projects, project updates and ramblings.
The Inspur 9300-8I has a different cooler compared to the OEM LSI HBA which almost exactly measures to 50mm Square. The cold plate itself underneath isn’t too large, and there’s barely enough space to fit a zip tie beneath to mount the fan atop.
The fan used is a Silverstone FTF 5010.
I originally planned to buy an OEM LSI 9300-8I but I didn’t check the eBay listing carefully. I wanted the OEM one because the hole spacing is square, which would allow me to mount a fan using the pushpin holes directly with plastic nuts and a long screw. I could even swap on a copper heatsink to replace the aluminum one, but thinking back I wonder how much difference changing an aluminum heatsink to a copper one of the same size.
Link to the heatsink below.
