Small note: Gen 2 KM Switch does have Ethernet, despite product philosophy blurb?

Just wanted to point out something I found a bit contradictory on the store/product page: 4-Port KM Switch with USB SYNC, Serial Control, & Remote — Level1Techs Store.

In the description section titled “Why Our KVM Switches Don’t Include an Ethernet Port”, it explains why networking is left to dedicated switches — which totally makes sense!

However, the 4-Port KM Switch with USB SYNC, Serial Control, & Remote product page (linked above) does show an Ethernet port on the back. In the specs section under Ethernet Port, it also states:
“The built-in 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Port allows you to share Internet connectivity among the connected computers without unplugging, moving, or re-plugging the Ethernet cable in each computer.”

It might be worth clarifying whether that Ethernet port is actually intended for sharing network access, or — as also stated — for “IP Scanner / Printer / Camera Applications” (which sounds more like LAN device passthrough than general connectivity sharing).

Love the transparency and detail you put into explaining product design decisions — just thought I’d flag this in case it’s helpful!

Cheers

So this product is just a built in usb ethernet dongle. it does plug and unplug when you switch. …

Thank you for letting me know. The listing has been updated to more accurately reflect the purpose.
