SlimSas to SATA Trx50 WS - detected but can't read?

Hi all,

I’m working on a new build. Threadripper 7980x, Asrock trx50 ws board.

I’m trying to use the SlimSas port to read a Samsung 870 ssd sata drive. I’ve got a cable that goes slimsas to sata and I can see the drive. But I can’t read it, or partition it or anything. All options are greyed out in disk management. Except properties. And it tells me the correct info about the drive.

Am I missing something?

Did you already set-up the port from NVME to SATA in the BIOS? If not that might does the trick…

Hi! I did that when at first the drive wasn’t showing up at all. Now I see the drive but can’t access it. It’s a gpt protective partition. I didn’t format like that.

I took it out and put it in another system, reformatted it, put it back and same thing…

I even connected it to the new system via sata2usb and reformatted and then connected to slimsas and same thing… Arghhhh

Also,

This is the cable I’m using. It’s fits and the drive is visible… So I don’t think I have the wrong cable.
