A few weeks ago I installed a new 280x to replace my 7850. Then I installed Skyrim fresh so I could mod it properly with suitable high res textures (instead of the lower/mid res ones I previously used).
Now the audio keeps stuttering in a way such as this (if you're familiar with the opening sequence you will understand what I mean) :
Hadvar: "oh good yo....... ake", and
Hadvar: "what vi....... are you from......... ief?"
It goes on like this and is also present in gameplay sections. It does also seem to pause the frame for a moment, but it seems less noticeable than the auditory pause, if that makes sense.
It's fairly unplayable like this, and I've been playing Skyrim just fine for the last 12 months on the 7850.
I uninstaller all mods, and it still happens, so I've now removed Skyrim and currently redownloading from steam. But I have a bad feeling it won't help.
Any ideas on what the problem is would be awesome and I'd be very grateful. I play Skyrim more than anything, so without that I'm pretty much just playing Risk Of Rain over and over until I go insane.
I have the same problem with the audio, though less severe. Hasn't totally ruined gameplay for me, but googling hasn't turned up anything for me since I can't really describe it properly. But it's definitely annoying.
I've been having the same problems myself. Some people have fixed the sound problem by setting there audio to 5.1 and using speaker fill, I tried this myself it did not work for me but seems to work for lots of people. The Stuttering and frame freezing is something that has annoyed me alot, some people have said turning your shadow settings down if there on ultra fixes this and changing the quality of distant terrain. But Its seems like no ones really come up with a definitive fix for it, well at least that I'm aware of.
After installing Skyrim over, and playing it fresh (no mods, just Dragonborn, Hearthfire and Bethesda's Official HD textures), the issue persists, however it is much less noticable. Consider it going from an unplayable state to a minor annoyance.
I reinstalled all the mods I had and it is teh same. The problem is not exacerbated by mods.
No matter how I modified sound settings, it doesn't help at all. I tried turning shadows and draw distance down from ultra, also no change. But for now it is just annoying and not game breaking.
Still would be great if anyone can find a solution.
