Should I buy 980 ti?

I was about to buy Gigabyte GF GTX980 N980G1, the 980 ti was not an option at the time due to price and availabilty, but then N980G1 got 50€ price rise and now for another 200-250€ I can get 980 ti.

What do you think? Is it worth it or should I stick with N980G1 sli it sooner?

Also if 980ti is the way to go, what would you sugest?

Asus GeForce GTX 980Ti "Reference Design" 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GTX980TI-6GD5)
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980Ti "Reference Design" 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Zotac GeForce GTX 980Ti "Reference Design" 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (ZT-90501-10P)

Thanks!

in terms of reference design cards, it doesnt matter which one you grab.
Because they are all the same.

Anyway, it highly depends on the resolutions you want to play at.
But of course the 980Ti is a good card.

I am not going for 4k or VR right now, but there is a chance those technolagies might explode soon, and then the 250€ gap might have grown if I chose the wrong card.

But the real concern is, even if I stick with 1440, - eventualy I will sli and then I will be stuck with what I got.

well the 980Ti is ofc a great card.

if you can afford it, and high fps numbers, and some Nvidia feutures are important to you, then why not?

But yeah AMD will putt their ace on the table 16th of june.
I´m looking forward to that.

I know, I probably will not order before 16th, but truth be told I dont want to wait, because I dont have a pc right now and there always will be some kind of new tech to wait for. Also I am afraid that if I start to put this off again I will put it off for another 2y and end up with intels usbpc lol

16th of June is like a week away. Just wait and see.

As FrogE and MisteryAngel said, the AMD is going to present the top tier card at E3 on the 16th. Hopefully, if it's better, Nvidia might drop the price even on the 980TI - though that might be a longshot

I dont think there will be another price drop. Actualy I dont think that AMD will bringa a gamechanger to the market. As a customer, I hope they will, but for me it looks like 980ti was relised to strenghten nvidias position even more, not because they fear what AMD has.

You'd be absolutely insane to not wait a week. New GPU's wont appear for about another year after this (when Nvidia release pascal most likely).

I've been waiting for around a month and waiting my not be worth it in the end, but there is still a chance it could. AMD may come through and convince me to buy their new flagship card, or the 980ti might get a drop. If neither of those things happen, I'll probably pick up an overclcoked Ti.

New AMD cards are supposed to be coming in like 6 days, might as well wait.

Yeah just wait and see. We don't know how Nvidia will respond to the new AMD cards.

Ofc I will wait, I never intended to order right now. In fact I am only now putting together list of parts for my dream pc and it will take some time. What I want on 16th is something I can compare with the new AMDs offering.
