Shearing a folder

My setup is 1 desktop and 2 laptops. They all run win7 and work fine but the problem comes in that one of the laptops cant access the shared folder on the desktop. I have googled the problem and it seems that there are a lot of different advice for this. Its not a network problem since the other laptop can access it fine so .

Some facts:

  1. they all can ping all the pcs and router
  2. disabling firewall did not fix it 
  3. network discovery is on
  4. its not a NetBIOS problem
  5. they are not in the same home group (never used one, so there is none)
  6. I have checked all the shearing options i can think of.

All i can think of is that since its running AVG that might be messing with it since half the advice on Google says to disable all the antiviruses. (disabled it but that didn't fix it  so uninstall maybe?)

Any ideas?

Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found.

The easy way is adding the users from the laptop into the desktop, make sure they have the same password. Right click on the folder you want to share, tab sharing , advanced sharing, click in share this folder, permissions remove everyone , Add , advanced find now . Select the new users you created ( user from laptop 1 and user from laptop 2 ) .

 Easier than this,  use a ftp software like filezilla server , easy to setup and to share folders.
