Sennheiser HD201 + Bravo V3 = WOW!

I posted a question about headphone amps and the Sennheiser HD201. Great headphones, very nice sound for the price. They had some bass but I had the impression they weren’t being used to their full potential by my laptop (System76 Gazelle Performance running Ubuntu 14.10).

So, I ordered the Bravo V3 Tube Headphone Amp, and wow what a difference it makes with these $30 Sennheiser cans. The Bravo V3 is a hybrid amp, meaning its part vacuum tube amp and part solid state amp. It has an equalizer for bass, mid, and treble. Inputs are 3.5mm audio and RCA stereo. The output is a 6.3mm stereo headphone jack. The tube is shipped with was an Electro-Harmonix 6922. The components are all high quality. The volume control feels very solid, it doesn’t feel like its going to break off in my hand. So far I really like it.

Has anyone else ever used equipment from Bravo Audio?

Bravo Audio V 2 with Groove tube silver. A nice little amp at 50 dollars that works great for reducing the sterility of digital sound and boosting sound from small devices with audio. I like mine. I use it between my pc and cheap 5.1 surround sound home theater setups and also my small portable devices like my tablet. I think that version is a little pricey and the eq is unnecessary. For the money i spent on mine, it was worth it. If you have an android phone or tablet get viper4android( i prefer the older versions ) and you will get some amazing sound on the cheap. I have a tube bias so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
