Scanning for Virus in PST files

So at work whenever we are importing any type of PST file we need to first mount the PST file in Outlook and scan it for viruses. Currently we use McAfee for this more specifically we use the plugin that gets installed into Outlook. You mount the PST as a data file it shows up as a folder like any other OST or PST would then you select that folder and can scan it. that's great except Mcafee sucks. sometimes the plug in will not let you select the top level of that folder forcing you to scan at the second level and it only lets you scan one folder at a time. This takes to much time and attention on one PST let alone 200 PST files. There has to be a better way or a better product. Any recommendations on products or methods would be greatly appreciated. @wendell I'm looking in your direction
