S24 Ultra Users.... How is the camera?

So I’ve been wanting to get an S24 Ultra, but I have a bad habit of buying things, trying them out for a bit, and returning them if I don’t love them. I’m trying to not do that any more.

In the past I’ve had a Note 8, Note 20 Ultra, S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, and ever since the Note 20 Ultra I feel like the camera has gone downhill. I haven’t kept any of them for an extended period of time. Anything in low light or moving subjects tend to be blurry because Samsung favors a slower shutter speed compared to other phones. It’s always been my favorite phone for content consumption, but the camera is very inconsistent.

It seems like even after the recent update in April, there are still complaints about the camera, some people saying it’s even worse, like here on the Samsung Forums for example. The Reddit consensus also seems to be that Samsung has tweaked a few things, but hasn’t actually fixed the issues.

But I also found this video (from just a couple days ago, so post-April-update) and the guy has nothing but praise as far as I remember.

It’s also really disappointing, and maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place, but I don’t see any parts for the S24 Ultra on iFixit. The S23 Ultra parts are limited as well. I don’t know if this is an iFixit problem, or a Samsung problem.

Like I’m debating really hard whether or not to get one. I’ve already ordered one for store pickup, it’s ready to go, so I might just try it out regardless of all the negativity. But I was wondering if anyone else has problems with theirs, or if I just happen to be running into negativity because I’m searching for negativity.

Can’t say much about Samsung, but most of the Sony Xperia 1 V are titled as “Oh that camera… unethical noises”.

The Experia 1 VI was just announced too, but I’m only seeing a pre-order on Sony’s UK website at the moment.

Only one thing to keep in mind - its a Camera phone(main point being the camera, and not the usual phone with built in camera). Ive seen good stuff on yt shot with that device), but its aimed at manual camera config. It does have an auto mode, if Im not mistaking, but to make those outstanding non ai enchanced photos you would need to know what your doing.

Ah I’m not sure I wanna deal with all that on a phone. I’m more of a snapshot guy, unless I get in the mood to break out the D750.

Yeah. I also was tempted with this. But the more I thought about it, the more meh, auto mode is fine. People do speak fondly about that phone in terms of build quality(apart from the fact that it seems to be 99% stock android if I understand correctly). But don`t an opportunity to see that phone in person.

I did see s24ultra, even held it in hands, but it didn`t attract me at all.
