So I’ve been wanting to get an S24 Ultra, but I have a bad habit of buying things, trying them out for a bit, and returning them if I don’t love them. I’m trying to not do that any more.
In the past I’ve had a Note 8, Note 20 Ultra, S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, and ever since the Note 20 Ultra I feel like the camera has gone downhill. I haven’t kept any of them for an extended period of time. Anything in low light or moving subjects tend to be blurry because Samsung favors a slower shutter speed compared to other phones. It’s always been my favorite phone for content consumption, but the camera is very inconsistent.
It seems like even after the recent update in April, there are still complaints about the camera, some people saying it’s even worse, like here on the Samsung Forums for example. The Reddit consensus also seems to be that Samsung has tweaked a few things, but hasn’t actually fixed the issues.
But I also found this video (from just a couple days ago, so post-April-update) and the guy has nothing but praise as far as I remember.
It’s also really disappointing, and maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place, but I don’t see any parts for the S24 Ultra on iFixit. The S23 Ultra parts are limited as well. I don’t know if this is an iFixit problem, or a Samsung problem.
Like I’m debating really hard whether or not to get one. I’ve already ordered one for store pickup, it’s ready to go, so I might just try it out regardless of all the negativity. But I was wondering if anyone else has problems with theirs, or if I just happen to be running into negativity because I’m searching for negativity.
