Ryzen and Android Studio

Apparently, Android Studio's emulator does not work on Ryzen. At least on my PC it says:

Which is weird since the SVM option in my BIOS is enabled, furthermore I don't have any problems running virtualbox' VMs.

Edit: Ok it seems that SVM is Linux only, at least when developing with Android Studio:

yeah. never seen android studio do well in windows

have not done much with android studio though. i just use it to get adb and fastboot installed on windows

I went through this whole process over the last 2 days. Yea it is supported under Linux but that's not an option for everyone. The second option which I'm using is this

There is a plugin so it integrates with Android studio just like the stock emulator and it's X86-64 and it's faster than the stock. It's not as fast as running on real hardware but my 1800X managed to reach OP3 speeds. Not quite making Galaxy S8 performance.

When you use Android Studio on windows and encounter an error it will sometimes go as far as actually responding with a clearly linux related error message.

The optimization for android + windows is essentially non existent.

In the beginning I had the idea of developing in a VM, but Android Studio wasn't properly working there either since the necessary CPU instructions aren't passed through.

@Rudster Is it possible to create different devices with different Android versions? For example a Nexus 5 that runs with Android 5.0?
