Ryzen 5900X recommended BIOS voltage/clock speed/PBO settings

Hi folks,

First time PC builder here. The specs of my machine are as follows:

  • Ryzen 5900X cooled by a Noctua NH-U12S
  • GT1030
  • Corsair Vengeance 16 GiB
  • Asus ROG B550-F Gaming Wifi

I’ve got a few questions about the BIOS voltage, clock speed and PBO settings for my CPU:

To clarify, I’m not looking to overclock my PC, just want it to perform the way it says on the box. I’ve changed nothing in the BIOS except enabling DOCP and PBO on Auto.

  • The BIOS has by default set the CPU core voltage to 1.4 volts. The internet seems to suggest that this is too high. Do I need to reduce it?
  • If any of you are familiar with the mobo, can you suggest optimal settings for the CPU?
