I just got a triple video KVM from the L1Store. I have two machines connected, one is my work laptop on Win11 and the second is my home PC. The three displays work fine on my laptop running through a StarTech dock. I only can get one display working out of my home PC running a RX7900XTX. I suspect it isn’t the KVM, but I’m missing something to get my three displays to recognize. I’m just not sure where to go from here.
Thanks,
Marc
PC Specs:
AMD Ryzen 9950X3D
Radeon RX 7900XTX - ASRock Tai Chi
MSI Pro x870-EP
32GB DDR5
Do the three monitors work with the 7900XTX without a KVM switch between them?
There’s nothing special to configure, just activate them if they are not already activated per default.
But I have never used Mint, maybe it’s different from KDE in that regard, have you tried to install “arandr” (Another XRandR GUI)?
The displays do work without the KVM, and I can get them to work with windows on my work laptop through the KVM. I’m not properly identifying the two side monitors though, so I think it’s a cable issue. I’ve tried to force output on the other DP connections but no luck.
Are there any good suggestions for a DP to DVI cable or adapter that is known to work with this KVM? My existing side monitors use DVI/VGA and I only plan to run them at 1280x1024.
