Hello all, I’m a bit of a newb and trying to make an unraid server. I have a ROMED8U-2T board but I am trying to make the most of the pcie slots and was curious if anyone knows if bifurcation can be done on one or all of the slots? I am interested in running an Asus m. 2 card that supports 4 total drives. Thanks for the help.
You should be able to set bifurcation for each PCIe slot. Note that an 8x slot will NOT bifurcate into 2x2x2x2, only 4x4x and thus limit to just 2 NVMe drives, irrespective of the adapter card you use.
