RGB or nah?

Should i get the regular Corsair K70 or the RGB version? Is the extra 60$ worth it? Are there any differences beside the lighting?

Also, this is my first time purchasing a mechanical keyboards, im still not sure which switch should i choose. I'm leaning towards the Cherry MX Blue since it is very clicky and i love that noise, i don't know if it has a distinct actuation point where i could feel that the key has been registered. I've tried to press on the Razer BW, i kinda like it, what is the most similar switch to the Razer BW 2013?

As far as I know, the standard Razer BW switches (which don't feel horrible) seem to be copies of the Cherry MX Blue switches.  TS actually did a very nice job covering most of the popular switches a while back:

I, for one, wouldn't mind paying a bit extra for the ability to customize my color scheme to the max, but I would personally wait for a sale or something.

Cheers!

the blues are nice and clicky probably the closest to razors switch (but there different) .. I use browns/reds because that's what I prefer.

... corsair  rgb ..

I loved my non rgb vengeance keyboards they have on-board memory so when switched computers I could just plug my keyboard into the next computer.

the RGB version of this keyboard looks cool but takes 180+ MB of ram and basically has no on board memory (in that the keyboard features will not work without the software)

and with it being a "gaming keyboard" it causes issues with some games (in some scenarios it crashes steam). They are "slowly" fixing these issues.

after owning my rgb since it came out I am still on the fence of weather or not I should suggest these keyboards - they are nice but if your the person who isn't good at troubleshooting I would wait

I am going to play devils advocate and say don't get either.

I had a horrible time with corsair, the leds started to burn out in 4 months (non RGB) and it took corsair a month with no indication they had received the keyboard so I had to prompt them, there was no replacement stock even though they were busy flooding the market with the RGB series. I eventually got a refund for less than the price of the initial keybaord, lost out on shipping costs and now I will never buy or recommend corsair anything to anyone.

It was a non RGB K95 (their top of the line) and it crashed steam a few times.

I had red switches, I like them because they were silent and had no click or indication of actuation.

I don't like razer on principal. I don't like LEDs in keyboards.

I am getting a WASD V2 soon
