Hello,
I’ve got a machine with closed-end PCIe 3.0x4 and 4.0x4 slots. I want to use them with x8 cards that I know will work fine at x4 speeds.
So, my (vague) plan is to get a pair of short x4 to x16 straight-line riser cables, and fit the cards with half-height brackets so there’s room to just screw them in the case’s PCIe brackets and run the riser down to the slots on the board to connect them.
But I have no idea how to shop for good quality riser cables. I’ve never bought them before, and am wary of the dozens of no-name OEM brands.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
