That’s plenty of space! For example, with the salad plants I mentioned, 9 square feet will feed a small family the entire summer, it grows like weeds. With your sunny climate tomatoes should do great as well or maybe rhubarb, it should grow mostly on it’s own as well and is super tasty in cakes or as compote?

Use raised beds - your back will thank you.

Plus you can take some of the grass clippings and mulch them in
