I have used Teamviewer for years but as of late it ends my connection within 30 seconds of remoting in.
I am looking for an alternative to use across windows and linux machines I have. The requirements I am looking for I feel are pretty basic ( secure, file transfer, android phone app would be nice)
I only have win 10 home edition and not Pro, so I cannot use Microsoft Remote Desktop.
Does anyone have suggestions? I have been considering programs such as AnyDesk and SplashTop so far?

Free ideally. I have enough of a use case to warrant the application but not enough to warrant paying for it. Iād say I use it a couple times a week MAX.
Is this all over LAN, WAN or mixed?
80%+ LAN seems about right
If you have an nvidia GPU on the machine you want to control remotely, you could use GeForce Experience app and Moonlight for the android device - its available on the Play Store and F-Droid.
Not sure if you can securely transfer files but you can certainly fiddle around smoothly.
And you need a good dualband router and the 5Ghz band for a better experience.
