Reliable BTC stick

Hello world.

I’m looking for a reliable Bitcoin or crypto stick to have on my keychain.

The key idea to bitcoin durability is having the seed to your wallet. If you’re not doing a hardware wallet (i.e. the seed/private key are built into the hardware) you need to maintain the seed yourself. Regardless of what flash drive you choose, what wallet you end up using, or even what tokens you choose to partake in, PLEASE have a BACKUP of YOUR SEED somewhere SECURE. Personally I like the idea of Tails Linux on a reputable flash drive with a physical copy of the seed in a safe hidden on your propery.

Hardware gets lost or fails so you want a backup for sure. Something like a QR code or bar code plus the ASCII hexadecimal digits printed on paper and locked somewhere. If extra paranoid generate a second byte string to XOR it with, print that out and store it in a second place.

Paper can burn or whatever. But Flash drives just go mysteriously to zero after several years.

I use a Trezor One, am happy with it, and recommend it.

It can also be used a two-factor auth token and works fine on Linux with some minimal udev rules.
