What is a regular CPU temperature without special water cooling? I have a standard heatsink on my AMD FX-6300 6-core processor. My computer will randomly restart itself after playing games for a few hours, and I was wondering if it has anything to do with my CPU overheating. Also, what is a good program to read the temps for my CPU? Any help would be great! Thanks!
Not sure on the AMDs, I've been with Intel since 2007. Here's what you can use to monitor your system, though http://openhardwaremonitor.org/
Thanks, I'll try these
Thanks, I downloaded the Hardware Monitor. It's showing the temps for the GPU, but not the CPU.
Hmm, it should show the CPU temps. When you're in OpenHardwareMonitor, go to File then Hardware and make sure that CPU is selected.
Well, I just noticed my anti virus ran it isolated... I ran it with unlimited access. Here is a picture.
From what I can see with those temps, it's running damn cold, wish I could run that cool! If you go to View > Columns then select Value, Min and Max, it'll keep track of your current temp, the minimum temp it got to and the maximum it reached; you may need to widen the window / maximize it to see it all. Then run a game for a short while and see what the temps are again. Make sure you keep the program open, though. If you go to Options > select Minimize to Tray and Minimize on Close, it'll keep it open for you even if you click the red X and keep it in your tray icons so you can go back to it at any point by double clicking on the tray icon.
Ok Cool. Thanks for the help man. I'll try doing this!
