Redragon Keyboards and hotkeys

KVM Model:

USW-KM-304

Problem:

*Is there a known problem with Redragon keyboards and hotkeys? I have several Redragon keyboards:
K596RGB
K585RGB
K615-R
K629-RGB

None of them work. They don’t have options to turn off the nkro. Well, K596RGB can turn key-rollover to 16-keys, but it still doesn’t work.

My current workaround is the Redragon M908 mouse, which has at least one key (key 4 on the top, the “fire” key), and macros there do work, though it cannot be programmed while plugged into an HID port. For anyone who has this mouse and a similar problem, make sure to have 10ms delay between key presses during your recording. Other keys on the mouse might work with macros (on the keypad 1 and 2 definitely work), but definitely not all, the keys that default to mode+/- do not.

I thought these would all work when I bought this switch because Windows has them listed as HID devices, and I didn’t look into it too carefully. I am assuming there is no way to fix this. It’s annoying.*

Other Notes:

Nothing that I can think off.

I made a post in the Hardware section for keyboards asking for Keyboard replacement advice since I figure there’s no solution here. Redragon doesn’t seem to do many firmware or software updates, and these are older models now. I figured that section was the best place for that. I guess QMK-compatible keyboards are probably the best choice in general if I want something programmable, from looking at other posts.

yeah looks like a compatibility issue with the Redragon keyboards and the KVM hotkey detection. the mouse macro workaround is a clever solution though. hopefully a firmware update or different NKRO setting can fix it in the future.

Yeah, I got a Keychron numpad and keyboard from Microcenter, but since it’s an HE keyboard, I’ll have to make firmware and flash the bios – going to do that this weekend. The numpad works fine. I could go and get a mechanical keyboard, but I think I really like these magnetic switches. They feel nice and the keyboard is so quiet.
