I have a OnePlus X phone running, I believe, Android 5 or 6. The screen doesn’t work and the replacement screen I bought for it doesn’t work either right now. Maybe I did a mistake in the replacement, even though I’ve done it before. So I am stuck with complete access to its mainboard, but no screen. Is there any way to recover data? That is all that matters
You might be able to connect the phone to a computer and see the files within. But the flavor of android on there may require authentication from the device prior. You might be able to use a USB C to HDMI to see the screen and see if the digitizer is responding to so you can enable USB debugging or data transfer.
If you can’t get it working then you’ll need to contact a specialist. If there aren’t any local repair shops you can try rossmann repair group: https://rossmanngroup.com/

Correct. Past that, trying to export the data via USB C without a working screen is only really otherwise possible using expensive tech used by police departments, such as the Celebite stuff. You can find this stuff used on eBay, but not sure how licensing/updates/upgrades works.
Thanks,
I actually had got a “5pin MHL cable” which did nothing. Either the cable doesn’t work, or the device does not respond, you can never really be sure with such quality cables. The device port is actually a microusb (not a usb type c).
I wonder if there is an exploit available for such old OS
Hey @Gerard
Your options are kinda limited my friend…your mobile is way too old and without turning USB debugging, it’s gonna be tricky to pull data MicroUSB and MHL stuff can be hit or miss.
If the phone powers on, try an OTG adapter to hook up a mouse or something and navigate blindly, but that’s honestly a long shot. Otherwise, recovery services might be the last option.
