I am curious to hear if anybody can recommend a quiet UPS? I am looking for something roughly in line with the below:
- About 1kW (or 2x 500W)
- Quiet operation when on utility power!
- Rack-mount, if possible
- Line-interactive
- Preferably newer/ currently available models (the used market is a bit sparse where I live…)
Since ‘quiet’ is subjective: I mean a device that you are happy with having next to your desk in your office. So normal workstation/ office-floor noise of 25-30 dB is fine. But please no server-room turbines.
I gave up on trying to quiet down my used double-conversion enterprise UPS and am looking to buy something new instead. However, the more research I do on this, the more confused and frustrated I get since manufacturer specs only show max. noise (during charging or on battery power, which is not that relevant), and online reviews seem to constantly contradict each other regarding noise levels… Like for the Eaton 5SC 1500i Rack2U or the APC SMT1500RM2U I was looking at…
Any help is appreciated!
