RE: Pricing Help -- 9900k Streaming/Editing Build

I’m looking to sell my old PC bought from Puget Systems in August of 2020.

Per the guidelines of the Buy/Sell/Trade forum, which I’ve read like a not-bad, price checks aren’t allowed. So I thought I’d post here as it seemed most topical, but mods feel free to move if this isn’t the place.

PC Part Picker List with as close as I cloud get parts – Actual parts as received from Puget Systems listed in block quote below.

  • Fractal Design Define R6 USB-C Black w/ Window
  • Gigabyte Z390 Designare
  • Intel Core i9 9900K 3.6GHz Eight Core 16MB 95W
  • Noctua NH-U12S
  • Samsung DDR4-2666 32GB (4)
  • EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC GAMING 11GB Open Air

  • Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB M.2 SSD Tertiary drive.
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 850W P2 Power Supply
  • Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound
  • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

System is currently in Chicago /w family, though I could bring it back to Seattle after the holidays if anyone is interested here.

Looking for two recommendations – A ‘fair price’, and a ‘more than fair this will sell immediately’ price.

With PC system sales, ask yourself the question, how much money do you need to spend to get similar performance on a new platform? Then aim for a range 60-80% of that. Here is a modern build spec with modern parts that performs ~10-15% better for reference.

At roughly $1700, I would consider something in the range of $1000-$1300 to be fair here, but I also know a lot about computers and their value. For some average joe, $2000 is probably doable, but feels kinda scummy. It is your conscience though.

Check ebay for sold listings of similar systems

You might end up with more value parting out some of the arts as well, like you could sell 2 of the 4 32gb sticks and the new system owner probably wouldnt care. Same with the SSDs you dont need all 3 in them.

first off if thats the price you paid in your pc part picker or anywhere close, you got stung.

so around $1350-$1450 if you part it out, and sell everything (chances are you wont).

as an all in 1
its worth… about $1100 but you will likely have to settle for 900-1000

I would figure the fact it is a fully working system all but guaranteed to work should push it to at least $1500? Greater than the sum of the parts?

If not, then my opinion is silly market is silly, but the market is what it is

im only really going off my own experience trying to sell prebuilds.
also converting £ to $ so i might be off 20bux here and there

Cool, I’m thinking 750-800 for a quick sale, 1000 for a ‘fair’ price, and 1250 for an optimistic max value that will sell in a reasonable time.

Mostly based on this image, of current gen price/perf for CPU’s.

I’ll probably list it for 1250 Or Best Offer and see what comes of it.

Thanks for the feedback y’all!
