I will be using this card for gaming. I'm most likely going to start rendering videos for youtube soon(SonyVegas, Adobe AAE) as well so my question is whether to get a:
1)GTX 770: MSI TwinFrozr 2GB(€295),PNY(€285), Asus DCU2(€303)
2)r9 280x(3GB): Sapphire Vapor-X(€290), Gigabyte(€295), Asus DCU2(€290)
Which one would the best in terms of price, performance, noise, heat and reliability?
If you have a suggestion thats under €300 around ireland or UK leave it below. Pixmania has best prices as far as i know.
Go for a Evga 770. I had a Asus dcuii r9 280x and it had horrendous artifacting. And Asus is doing nothing about it to fix it. The Sapphire toxic card also has the same problem as the Asus. So does the gigabyte model just not as bad as the others. This isn't a driver issue as well, its a hardware issue.
So with that in mind i would stay away from the 280x line for now. Until these problems have been fixed.
I'll just leave this here to show how many people have encountered this problem.
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I can't get an EVGA as it isn't sold by the retailer that i want to buy from. Other retailers are really expensive though. The way I've always looked at amd and nvidia is like this. AMD-great hardware, mediocre software. Nvidia mediocre hardware, great software. I mean I looked at some benchmarks but they all seemed to be in preference of one card or the other. So I just wanted to ask if anyone has had experience with both of these cards? If so which one was running smoother etc.
