r9 270 crossfire mobo

Hey,

while finding parts for my pc, i thought about crossfire. I want my pc to last a while so i will add usb3.0, etc. I plan to add one r9 270 to my build, then i found out crossfire is quite good and will be used more in future games. What motherboard sould i get with it to run crossfire, usb3.0 and run well with a amd athlon 750k? btw. i am on a budget of around $70 CND.

thanks!

Asus a55bm-plus seems to be the only good motherboard that has what you need.

CF on the athlon 750K is pointless realy, your cpu would bottleneck it.

A55 chip set? realy? x16 x4 pcie slots? sigh

Have you allready got this cpu or are you now biulding a pc because the athlon is a fairly low end cpu for crossfire set ups.

'IF' you realy whant a FM2+/FM2 mobo for crossfire there is the Gigabyte GA-G1.Sniper A88X the ASRock FM2A85X Extreme6 these are made for crossfire set ups (i dont realy know why as all the cpu's on that platform are week for dual card configurations)

Hmm...

Will it bottle neck a fx 6300 or a 6350? Before deciding to use crossfire, I was going to use a Asrock H77M. Will this work because its only $70

well a FX8320 with 990FX chipsetboard will give you a better CF performance. Even a FX6300 would do better then a Athlon 750K. But you need a 990FX chipsetboard, for a CF at 16X.

But honnestly why would go for a CF 270X? Not all games have a good optimization for it, you also need a decent and more powerfull psu, the price of two 270X cards you can also buy one R9-290. pair this with a FX8320 and you have got a beast of a rig.

Im on a budget of $600 so ill buy on 270, then just buy another once I want an upgrade. Another reason why im going with the 2 x 270s is cause I think there will be more mantle support soon.

yeah then things gonne be diffrent, but a FX6300 with a 990FX chipsetboard will give you better CF compatibility.

For around $600, this is what im planning to get:

Powercolor r9 270- $205

amd fx 6300- $125

AsRock H77M- $65

Corsair CX Series CX500M 500W ATX 12V 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power Supply-$70

Fractal Design Core 1000 mATX Computer Case 2X3.5IN 3X2.5IN USB3.0 *No PSU* $40

Corsair Vengeance Blue CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 $85

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 16MB Cache 7200RPM 3.5IN SATA Internal Hard Drive OEM $60

Its around $600 From Ncix Canada, if you can improve it please do.

Asrock H77M is a intel board FX4130 is an AMD cpu that does not gonne work.

will the msi a75a e35 work?

The msi FM2-A85XA-G65 does have a CF capability at 8x.

The board you name, i dont know it, i have to do some research my self about that board. But like i said, please don´t botter about CF on apu. it will bottleneck anyway.

I would realy suggest just to stay with a single gpu setup. CF is pain in the ass anyway.

I can agree on that those are better boards and that the a55 is horrible but it was the only board i could find with dual pcie slots that was under 70 bucks.
