R730 + E5-2697A V4 + 2400Mhz RAM = 1866MHz?

I have an R730 and R730XD. Recently I switched the CPU’s out and added more ram but noticed something weird. The server’s have dual E5-2697A V4 and 24 sticks of RAM each. iDRAC reports it as rated for the full 2400 but it’s only running at 1866. Is this because of how many slots are occupied or am I just missing something here?

yup, its the slots used.

I’ve ran into the same thing before. I did a bunch of benchmarks and honestly couldn’t tell a difference in performance. I’d just roll with it
