Question:Windows 7

Hey everyone,

I heard that DX 11 is coming out with Windows 7.
That sounds really exciting, but the thing that I want to know before I buy my GPU is
Is there any features in Windows 7 that requires DX 11 in order to work the way it suppose to?

For Vista I understand why DX 10 is needed and in what features it uses it but what about for Windows 7?
I'm planning to get a GPU that will do the stuff I wanted to do and get a DX 11 support card when I feel that I need it.

Thank you and please answer me...

they dont have any features in Windows 7 that runs at DX 11, basically the features are the same as they are in Vista.

What you are saying is that, there is nothing that requires DX 11 to run something the way it is suppose to?

Ok thanks now I know which video card to go for.

BTW, StarCraft 2 REALLY ROCKS HARD CORE!!!

wait for the DX 11 cards, get you're self a cheap 9800GT or even a 8800GT untill they come out, no point of wasting all you;re money on something that wont be that great in a couple months.

I totaly agree

also, the 8800GT is still a great card, there's no game it wont play with decent frames, I have a computer that's still running one and its completely fine, there was no need to get the GTX265 I bought.

Windows 7 does come with DX11, but there aren't any features of Windows 7 which require DX11. But if Windows 7 did actually need DX11 for something, it would most likely be able to be run on a DX10 card. That's because DX10 cards will be able to use some of the features of DX11.
