Question about RMA'ing a GPU

Ok the display port outputs on my Sapphire 7970(i bought it JUST over a year ago on newegg) have quit working, and i am needing to rma it but i have never done it before, plus something they say on there website confused me.

they said"Sapphire VGA products carry a 2 year warranty with all enquires carried out through your initial place of purchase. This can only be carried out by the original purchaser Please contact your Dealer/Reseller for Warranty / RMA service. They will require proof of purchase which includes the original invoice/documentation."

Can some one please explain it?

Does it mean i have to talk to newegg?

You need the bar code from the box, and the slip of paper that come in the box the GPU shipped in. You need to file an RMA through Newegg, I suggest calling them and ask for free shipping. You need to ship it back to them with it's original box, or the barcode from it, and everything that came with it. If you are still confused, call Newegg's RMA service and they will help you out.

....umm i threw away the box a few months ago, since the card i been problem free for so long i did not think i would need it,i do still have all the newegg emails to prove that i bought it.

I hope i am not screwed......

Call up Newegg, and see what they say. They are really nice if you call. You are most likely screwed of you try to file online, plus you will have to pay for the shipping

Well i don't have time to call today, but i am off tomarrow i will try then,i will post back what they say.

what should i do if it they won't let me?

Try contacting Sapphire's support and see what they have to say

If you bought it at newegg, you need something to show your purchase, maybe they keep an online record? And just call as said above.
