Question about KVM and additional monitors

I’m new to KVMs and am trying to figure out how much of one I need. I’ve got to PCs, one my daily driver and the second mostly used as a NAS/HTPC. So for my primary I use 2 soon to be 3 monitors. for the second I only need to use a single monitor while I’m at my primary desk.

My question is, can I use a two pc, single monitor KVM to switch one of my monitors and mouse and keyboard between the two PCs and still use additional monitors connected directly to my primary PC?

Most I’ve seen work off a KVM, be 2 displays. Would your 3-display system, be relevant to >1 rig?
