[Q] Dual Gigabit PCIe x4 card on PCIe x1 slot?

So the LAN card is HP NC360T (based on intel 82571EB) it is PCIe (v1.0) x4,
the motherboard has only one PCIe (v2.0) x1 slot, in theory I should be able to get Gigabit speeds right? What about practice?

I plan to use this in my pfsense router build, I only need one Gigabit connection for Home LAN, the other one will be for Wi-Fi AP and I don’t need Gigabit on that

Thanks in advance

PCIe1 x1 does provide enough bandwidth, so in theory it should work.
And that HP card is a rebranded Intel NIC. Try it. There is a good chance.
