Great new subreddit dedicated to blue screen of death (in the wild).

yeah a lot of kiosks and things run windows embedded, which can be made to BSOD just like standard windows. Always fun to see one in the wild.
That one on the building seems suspect. Why would they have a windows PC sourcing content on that display/display wall?
Everything needs a controller and a user interface. There are also enough embedded *nix fails to be viewed. The bluescreen is just so much more prominent =)
Oh man try being a 3rd party tech when a ATM BSOD, I had 3 security guard breathing down my neck while i fix the thing, i felt they ready to take me down
I feel with you Sir! I would have told them to keep distance or I will never be finished ^^
Like: You want to go home tonight? - yes? - then step back and let me do my work!
Ah yes..... but i was so young lol :)
things like this make me wonder who's in charge.
''really? i understand things can mess up at random but reallllyyyy?''
they could have had a backup, some sort of redundancy to immediatly use... :|
Really depends on what happens, if its hardware no so easy, also depends they might not have IT guys (or Gals) onsite, Most of the work i have done in the past has been 3rd party contracts, where they give a list of jobs and how-tos and tell you go fix shit, everything from Banks and Maccas/KFC to Government and Corporations, i got so good at setting up Maccas registers, had a new image and ready to go in 10min.
God i had to plug in a network printer at the DOJ once and there IT guys install it remotely
The entities operating that stuff vastly don’t care. They contract someone and say.. go make this and that. the contractor goes and makes it work; Than it runs.. it runs ... than it fails and noon around that's accountable for it.
This systems often hardly have user interaction and if so the guy or gal operating it might not even think of it as a computer ^^ its the screen.. it works... or not
''or not''
i giggled. :P
Looks like I am on a daily hunt for BSOD's
